The Director of Production at Fisher Design needs a seasoned production artist in our Cincinnati office. This particular position would be supporting a team servicing one or more of our key clients.  As a production artist, you will work with our client and a talented, integrated team of account services representatives, strategists, designers and production professionals. The primary goal of this position is to assemble electronic artwork and provide ready-made files to our client upon deliverable dates and necessary guidelines. We are interested in speaking with professionals looking for both full time and freelance opportunities.

Here are some points for you to consider relative to this position.

  • We work hard and need someone that likes to be part of a great team. Clearly you need to not only be smart, but also enjoy working with people and making sure that you keep deadlines and complete all work in a timely manner.
  • We want a talented person that has a great attitude as well as someone that can interact with fellow employees to get the job done. Your primary focus will be to produce, edit, alter, optimize and deliver final files on time and to specification as determined by the client.
  • In essence, you will work in partnership with the production team and director to guarantee standards and proper workflow. This will involve ensuring that ongoing communications regarding client projects are timely.  You will also assist the Account Services team with communicating information on various jobs both in progress and upcoming.
  • Your computer skills will involve using a Macintosh computer and such programs as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Having good file building skills will be helpful in separations and a basic knowledge in print background is necessary (gravure, flexography, offset lithography). In addition, having good organizational skills will be helpful in being able to handle multiple projects at the same time while staying within time and money budget.

Here are some other areas where your skill sets will help you compete against the other candidates for this position.

  • Your level of proofreading skills and ability to provide error proof work for quality assurance.
  • Your level of knowledge of basic digital artwork development and pre-press fundamentals.

If you are interested please email us at hr@fisherdesign.com.  Attach your resume and either send us samples of your work or give us a website so that we can look at your work – Failure to do so will eliminate your candidacy.

While we might be flexible on some aspects of the work we want a talent that can enhance the Production Director’s efforts to maintain the long and successful relationships we have had with our clients.

My name is Summer Patterson and I am the HR Director at Fisher Design.

I will be screening the candidates in collaboration with the Creative Director to narrow the list of people we would like to meet and interview.

If you choose to apply we ask that you follow the directions above instead calling me on the phone – we are very good at responding even if it is to tell you that we do not think there is match.

Good luck in your job search and we hope that you can become part of our team!
